The Reluctant Monkey's JixeWriMo Challenge 2016
Word of advice. If you ever find yourself wandering the remains of an abandoned estate known mostly for its reputation as the home of a witch’s ghost and you find some musty old spell book that looks like maybe it’s been around since Paul Revere took his famous ride? Don’t pick it up. Don’t flip through its crumbling pages. And above all else, whatever you do, don’t read an entire page out loud just to show off how well you’re doing in your Latin class. Otherwise, you may accidentally bestow upon yourself the power to see dead people.
Yeah. I know. That may sound wicked cool to you right now, but trust me. It’s not. Turns out not only do dead men tell tales? Sometimes, no matter what you do, they Just. Won’t. Shut. Up.
A/N: Reader Warning: PG-13. A few minor curse words here and there. These stories were loosely inspired by the somewhat obscure television show Dead Last, with a bit of Buffy and Supernatural thrown in. In this uni - The Whispering Witch never took place, Trixie and Jim never dated or showed any inclination to do so, Jim and Brian are off at college, Trixie's a junior in high school and Mart and Dan are seniors. I decided to write this as my personal JixeWriMo 2016 challenge, because I could be sure that I am only absolutely counting new words for the month.
