It takes you several tries to find what you believe is the path with an unknown end. The darkness here is nearly complete and you hesitate. Your phone battery is almost dead. Already, its switched to "power save" mode and you don't know how much longer you can rely on it for light.
As you contemplate your next move, from the corner of your eye, you just catch a flash of movement. The indistinct blur of a man moving further into the trees has you nearly paralyzed with fear. You turn and suck in a sharp breath, suddenly too scared to even call out. |
