So, since I resurrected ASKOF, why not the Keeper Page, too? Yep, if you haven't seen the announcement on JIX or The Clubhouse, it's back!

So... way back in the late 90s, the very first ASKOF site was a black page with a banner that looked like this: This isn't an exact replica, because I no longer have it, and I don't remember the fonts I used, but this is close. For added latest-cool-thing-you-could-do-with-a-website, I'd written a simple code that made the Trixie Belden part blink. Uh, huh. It blinked. Off and on. Like a cheap motel sign. How awesome is that? Under the banner was a simple list of the links to the individual episodes, which were all just black Times Roman text on a white background. And when you landed on this *amazing* page, you heard this: (With no way to turn it off other than hitting mute on your volume, mind you, because I embedded the music in the page.) The episodes' opening credits pages had this playing: Actually, I still like that second one quite a lot. I'm only just starting to think of the new ASKOF theme as the theme, as opposed to that Casper MIDI.
Once Season 1 was finished, the site got even better. No. Really. Because I added stuff like images. And a JavaScript credits that worked with rotating slides. Woo. I'll bet you're missing it already, right? LOL! If that doesn't make you appreciate how far the internet has come? Nothing will. I'm so excited I can do things with this site now that I only dreamed about back then - like adding actual MP3s, instead of tinny-sounding MIDI files. And movies! Actual movies! It makes me wonder what things will be like in another ten years. Maybe the tech will have come so far by then, we'll all be making our own Trixie movies using some kind of combination of a SIMS like program where we can build our Sleepysides and that cartoon animator program with the funny-looking bears who said your dialog. (Which sadly is no longer available.) Did you see the new MUSIC tab? Because in the ASKOF universe, there's simply no such thing as too over-the-top. Heh.
I've finished and posted the third season episode guide. Again, as a warning, the guides are FULL of spoilers.
Season 4 premieres Monday, January 6.
And because I didn't have enough sense to check, I wasn't aware when I picked this date that it happens to be the night of the BCS championship game. Which means (shhhhhhhh) the episode will actually be posted earlier in the day so I can watch it. :) ETA: I just realized I need to do a Season 3 episode guide. Don't know if I'll have that done by Monday, but I'll do my best. |
